The past few days have been a challenge to all of us that are associated with secondary
education and interscholastic athletics. The OHSAA Officiating Department, along with all
OHSAA staff, have been working hard to make sure our stakeholders are informed of the
best practices in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis. Schools and businesses have begun to
restrict group meetings at their locations in efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
This is affecting our local associations as they lose their meeting space. All
indications from medical professionals and the government have been that this situation
will get worse before it gets better. We do not want to encourage group meetings in
confined spaces. As such, we are waiving meeting requirements for all spring sport
officials. If your meeting space is cancelled, you do not need to try and reschedule. We
encourage all associations to utilize alternative education, such as online meetings, in
lieu of in person gatherings.
Please observe all communication from government and medical personnel and take necessary
precautions. We value you as a member of our team and want you to stay safe.
myOHSAA will be down for planned maintenance March 21, 22 and 23, 2020. During this time, all functions in myOHSAA will be unavailable, including state rules meetings for coaches and officials, officiating classes, and testing. We apologize for any inconvenience.

While the local meeting requirement has been waived this year, we believe umpires are still required to attend/watch a state meeting.
We are still planning on having the Banquet on May 17th.
